Shriya Som @Lakmé Fashion Week Summer / Resort 2018

Titled "Summer Love", Designer Shriya Bhupal's latest collection at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer / Resort 2018 was a sure shot head turner. Dressed in a pale pink, ruffled gown Disha Patani was her show stopper for the Haute Boheme collection. Her collection was an ode to the new age femmepreneur.

Her collection was all about pretty ruffles and pastel colors which represented timeless classic designs which one can adorn 10 years from now and yet be super fashionable and, in vouge. Shriya's sensibilities with body flattering silhouettes is very apparent in her beautiful designs. She showcased 24 looks with Bohemian - Floral style and introduced "Mountmellick Embroidery" into her collection. This style of embroidery originated in Ireland and uses predominantly knotted and padded stiches to create beautifully textured whitework embroidery with knitted fringes.

Ivory, pale onion pink, muted grey, pale lilac, and pale primrose yellow were the main colors of her collection. Each of the 24 outfits had a unique flair to it and yet the underlying theme was all too apparent. Fine embellishments and intricate embroidery work on the entire clothing line was extremely pleasing to the eye without being loud or garish. With a collection spanning from shimmering jackets, tiered dresses and fringes in pastel tones, the breadth covered by the collection was astounding. What we loved was the old world charm that reverberated throughout the show and came alive through Shriya’s pret couture. The show was capped off with Disha Patani embodying elegance and style in a flowy, ruffled pale pink bardot sleeved gown. We wish to see more of Shriya Som on the ramp, sooner than later.
